Inspirational Teachers - Excellent Exam Notes

Being taught by a dedicated and inspirational teacher can have a huge influence on an aspiring young mind. We have such teachers at Leavingcert Lecture Days. Our Teachers have excellent reputations and are well known as brilliant teachers in their subject areas.

Philip Campion - English

Philip teaches Junior and Leaving Cert English in Skerries, Co. Dublin. His main goal as a teacher is to empower students as learners and as writers. Philip has over 25 years experience of teaching. In his lectures he presents highly stimulating visual material, ideas and selected quotes in a very structured manner.

With Philip intensive learning takes place in a very stimulated environment. His students regularly achieve high honours, while many have gone on to be teachers, journalists, lecturers and successful entrepreneurs.

Philip has over two decades of experience as Junior and Leaving Cert Honours English Examiner for the Department of Education and Science. He has been a Higher LC English Adviser for the past five years. Philip has made radio broadcasts as an expert in Leaving Cert English and commented for the Irish Times Exam desk. For Philip, knowledge casts a light beyond its own shadow.

Declan O'Neill - English

Declan teaches English at Cabinteely Community School. He is a highly experienced Examiner at Junior and Leaving Cert Higher Level English. Up to 2006 he was Chief Advising Examiner in Higher English at Leaving Cert Level. He continues to teach and is Education Officer for the NCCA. Declan lives to teach.

Declan offers students new angles in a fresh and easy to apply structure for exam writing. He inspires students to offer their personal response, to be creative and enthusiastic.

Liz Mc Donald - Geography

Liz is an experienced higher level examiner at JC Cert and Leaving Cert level in Geography. Lis is a regular contributer on TCD's teacher training H.Dip in Education Courses for Geography Methodologies. Liz teaches various HL Geography Higher Level Revision Courses.

In her lectures, Liz provides dynamic and comprehensive revision of the main aspects of the Leaving Cert Geography Exam. Her aim is to fire her students with enthusiasm and to empower them for the LC Exam.

Declan Webb - French

Declan is currently teaching in Co Galway, He worked in private industry for some years, in translation and training. Declan holds a degree in Applied Languages, a Masters degree in French and is currently in his final stages of a PhD in Linguistics. His true passion is for languages, speaking 6 languages fluently and others at varying levels.

Declan offers his lecture students, confidence, clarity, and a fantastic arrary of language resources and tailored exercises for the exam.

Stephanie Ledwith - Chemistry

Stephanie is Head of Science at Dundalk Grammar School. She has been teaching honours Leaving Cert Chemistry and Biology there for 23 years and has taken a keen interest throughout her career in developing projects for the Young Scientist Exhibition. She is Chairman of the Louth-Monaghan branch of the Irish Science Teachers Association,

and has been very active in hosting its Annual Conference on the three occasions that it was held in Dundalk. Stephanie evokes highly enthusiastic responses from students in her Chemistry Lectures.

Joe Reville - Biology

Joe has been teaching Science and Biology in Ireland since 1976, having previously worked in Australia. He is currently teaching in Terenure College in Dublin and in the Institute of Education, where he teaches Biology, Science and study skills.

Joe enthuses and empowers his students as well as presenting the Leaving Cert Biology course in clever and memorable ways that enable those who attend his lectures to excel in the Leaving Cert.

He has been an examiner at both Junior Cert and Leaving Cert level for seventeen years and has been vice-chairperson of the Dublin branch of the Irish Science Teachers Association.He is the author of several textbooks including 'Rapid Revision Science', 'Rapid Revision Biology' and 'Study Skills: Yes You Can!' Joe is a regular contributor to radio and TV programmes on study skills, science and biology.
